**Job Title**
Machine Learning Engineer – Advanced AI and Cognitive Systems
**Role Summary**
Design, research, and develop intelligent adaptive systems that integrate LLMs, multimodal reasoning, and cognitive modeling. Lead prototyping, contribute to proposals, author publications, and support marketing through demonstrations.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high-impact research solutions for complex customer challenges.
- Produce invention disclosures, research papers, and technical briefings.
- Demonstrate prototypes to stakeholders and aid capability promotion.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead research, engineering, and software development of AI systems for sensor data processing, LLM and multimodal reasoning, and human‑AI collaboration.
- Apply cognitive science to enhance explainability, trust, and real‑world performance.
- Solve customer problems, craft technical proposals, and author invention disclosures.
- Publish research findings and present at conferences.
- Build, maintain, and deploy scalable, containerized AI services (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prototype and showcase solutions to internal and external audiences.
**Required Skills**
- **Software Engineering:** Build scalable APIs, containerized environments, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- **LLMs & NLP:** Deep knowledge of transformer architectures, prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG).
- **Human‑Machine Interaction:** Understand cognitive architectures, user modeling, neurophysiological sensing, and human‑subject research methods.
- **Data Analytics:** Advanced data wrangling, feature engineering, and statistical modeling in Python.
- **Machine Learning & AI:** Expertise in supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning; hands‑on work with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- **Communication:** Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and presentation skills.
- **Curiosity‑Driven Mindset:** Passion for solving complex, mission‑critical problems in fast‑paced research environments.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Cognitive Science, or related field.
- 3–5 years of applied ML/AI research experience, preferably in high‑stakes or mission‑critical domains.
- Experience with government‑funded R&D (e.g., DARPA, IARPA, ARPA‑H) is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency and eligibility to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
