Job Description
**Job Title** Software Engineer **Role Summary** Develop and maintain embedded software for Mattson Technology’s process equipment. Responsible for scalable code, control functions, system integration, testing, and cross‑functional collaboration within an international, distributed team. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, maintainable code with ownership (“you build it, you own it”). - Participate actively in peer reviews, design reviews, and continuous improvement. - Communicate requirements and road‑maps clearly to internal and external stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Author and implement scalable embedded C++ code for current and future systems. - Design, test, and implement control functions (Robotics, Vacuum, RF, MFC, error handling). - Collaborate with firmware vendors and electrical engineers for subsystem/system bring‑up and debugging. - Develop unit tests and automated test suites. - Analyze test data to refine controls and designs. - Lead and execute complex software projects. - Provide input on software architecture and contribute new ideas to improve products and processes. **Required Skills** - 2+ years of engineering experience in semiconductor or related equipment industry. - Strong C++ programming; object‑oriented design, multithreading, asynchronous programming. - Experience with distributed systems, TCP/IP, and RPC frameworks. - Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments. - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills. - Ability to work in a distributed team and embrace a “ownership” mindset. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
