Operations Associate – Credit Trading Desk
**Role Summary**
Provides end‑to‑end operations support for the European credit strategy desk of a boutique hedge fund. Manages trade capture, settlement, reconciliation, and treasury activities while serving as the primary escalation point for the credit investment team and ensuring compliance with internal processes and external regulations.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑quality, timely trade lifecycle support for CDS, bonds, and credit derivatives.
- Maintain strong working relationships with traders, portfolio managers, and risk/operations leadership.
- Execute ad‑hoc projects to support the rapid expansion of the credit desk.
- Achieve or exceed performance metrics tied to base salary and potential bonus structure.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Capture and confirm trade details across electronic platforms and internal systems.
- Process settlement instructions, monitor cash and collateral movements, and manage treasury credentials.
- Reconcile trade data with external counterparties, custodians, and clearing houses.
- Generate post‑trade reports, position summaries, and exception logs for portfolios and compliance.
- Escalate and resolve operational issues, audit findings, and regulatory inquiries.
- Collaborate with front‑office and back‑office teams on trade execution improvements and technology enhancements.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects, process documentation, and SOP updates.
**Required Skills**
- Minimum 5–10 years in hedge fund, asset‑management, or investment‑bank operations with a focus on middle‑office functions.
- In‑depth knowledge of European credit markets, including CDS, bonds, credit‑linked notes, and related derivatives.
- Proficiency with trade capture and middle‑office systems (e.g., Bloomberg BTP, Openlink, FlexTrade, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and reconciliation capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills to interface with traders, PMs, risk, and compliance.
- Self‑motivated project management abilities and the capacity to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification preferred (e.g., CFA, FRM, or equivalent) or demonstrated equivalent credit‑specialisation expertise.
