**Job Title**
Microsoft SRE Engineer
**Role Summary**
Responsible for maintaining, automating, and improving the reliability, scalability, and security of Microsoft-based infrastructure for large enterprise clients. Works within ITIL and Agile frameworks to ensure continuous operation, implement infrastructure‑as‑code solutions, and support incident resolution.
**Expectations**
- Keep Microsoft environments fully operational and secure.
- Drive ongoing automation and best‑practice adoption.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional technical teams.
- Deliver clear technical documentation and post‑mortem analysis.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of Microsoft infrastructure.
- Maintain production environments (MCO) and apply updates via WSUS.
- Design and implement automation using PowerShell and IaC tools (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or Chef).
- Monitor systems with tools such as Nagios and document performance metrics.
- Administer Active Directory, ADFS, RDS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and Windows Server/Windows Core.
- Harden systems and manage authentication and authorization.
- Manage virtualization with VMware and VDI solutions (Horizon, Citrix).
- Participate in incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortem reporting.
- Coordinate with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban).
**Required Skills**
- Advanced PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with at least one IaC/DevOps tool (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Chef).
- Active Directory architecture and administration.
- RDS, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and Windows Server/Windows Core expertise.
- VMware virtualization management.
- VDI solutions (Horizon, Citrix).
- Monitoring with Nagios or equivalent.
- ITIL process knowledge (certification appreciated).
- Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent communication, coordination, and client service orientation.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) preferred.
- ITIL Foundation or higher preferred.
