**Job Title:** Technical Architect Staff – Messaging
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, evolution, and governance of enterprise‑scale messaging and event‑driven architecture. Drive secure, resilient, and scalable message delivery across distributed systems and hybrid cloud environments, translating strategic objectives into robust architectural solutions that ensure compliance, observability, and end‑to‑end reliability.
**Expectations:**
- Own end‑to‑end messaging strategy and road‑map.
- Champion architectural standards, governance, and best practices.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
- Mentor and influence a technical team and broader IT community.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to capture strategy, requirements, measures, risks, and controls.
- Develop architecture artifacts, evolutionary roadmaps, and technology decisions.
- Establish and document messaging standards, patterns, and governance frameworks.
- Conduct risk assessments, approve/reject waivers, and enforce compliance.
- Participate in solution design reviews, code reviews, test case definition, and production incident troubleshooting.
- Mentor architects and engineers, fostering redundancy and back‑fill capability.
- Engage with external industry vendors, government boards, and community groups.
- Pursue and maintain professional certifications, present at conferences, publish work, and contribute to open source.
- Ensure risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled per risk and compliance policies.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep expertise in asynchronous communication, event‑driven frameworks, API design, AI‑enabled architectures, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong knowledge of security, encryption, and compliance best practices for messaging.
- Proven experience designing secure, scalable, and observable messaging solutions.
- Architecture knowledge across application, infrastructure, operations, scalability, availability, performance, tooling, and people domains.
- Ability to communicate complex technical decisions to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Documentation proficiency and experience with architecture repositories.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 10 years IT experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Technical certifications preferred: TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or equivalent.
