**Job title:** MuleSoft Integration Architect
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and govern enterprise integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform for a financial/insurance organization. Lead API‑led connectivity initiatives, define integration strategies, and ensure scalable, secure, and high‑performance designs across microservices and data sources.
**Expectations:**
* 15–25 years of IT integration experience, with at least 8+ years in senior architect roles.
* Proven track record delivering large‑scale, multi‑tenant MuleSoft deployments in regulated sectors (preferably insurance).
* Deep knowledge of API architecture, design patterns, governance, security, and performance tuning.
* Strong stakeholder communication and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Architect end‑to‑end MuleSoft solutions (API Manager, Runtime Manager, Design Center) that meet functional, security, and performance criteria.
2. Own API lifecycle management: create, publish, govern, retire APIs; enforce standards and best practices.
3. Design integration patterns (async, batch, microservices, event‑driven) and map data flows across disparate systems.
4. Mentor and coordinate with development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure consistent implementation of integration designs.
5. Perform gap analysis, perform risk assessment, and recommend strategy for modernization or migration.
6. Document architectural decisions, reference models, and operational runbooks compliant with enterprise governance.
7. Evaluate and integrate third‑party connectors, adapters, and services; drive API‑first initiatives.
8. Conduct performance tuning, resilience testing, and capacity planning for production environments.
**Required Skills:**
* MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API Manager, Runtime Manager, Design Center) – advanced level.
* API‑led connectivity, RESTful design, API governance, security (OAuth2, JWT, SAML).
* Integration patterns (Saga, Event‑driven, CQRS, Micro‑services).
* Familiarity with Java, Mule ESB, XML/XSLT, YAML, JSON, SOAP, GraphQL.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, GitLab), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Knowledge of data integration (ETL, iPaaS) and domain‑specific standards (X12, HL7, FIX).
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
* Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
* MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (MCIA) or equivalent senior MuleSoft certification.
* Additional certifications in API Management, Cloud Architecture, or security (e.g., Certified API Security Practitioner) are advantageous.
