Job Title: ServiceNow Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications and processes to support business operations. Deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions from concept through production while collaborating with QA and release teams.
Expectations
* Deliver projects on schedule with documented requirements, code, and test plans.
* Communicate risks, blockers, and technical decisions to stakeholders.
* Produce clear, maintainable documentation and deployment instructions.
* Maintain code quality, performance, and adherence to ServiceNow best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow processes, enhancements, and custom applications.
- Build and maintain Service Catalog items, Record Producers, and Workflows.
- Create server‑side components: Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, Fix Scripts, and API integrations.
- Optimize client‑side scripting: Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, GlideAjax.
- Develop high‑performance web applications focused on maintainability, scalability, and UX.
- Work with QA to test features, triage issues, and ensure defect‑free releases.
- Lead projects from development through deployment, meeting milestones and radar items.
- Prepare and deliver deployment instructions for release management.
- Document technical details in code and project management tools.
- (Optional) Support HR Service Delivery (HRSD) module as needed.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of hands‑on ServiceNow development.
- Strong server‑side scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, GlideRecord).
- Strong client‑side scripting (Client Scripts, UI Actions, GlideAjax).
- Experience building Service Catalog, Record Producers, and Flow Designer/Workflow solutions.
- Ability to write performant, optimized, maintainable ServiceNow applications.
- Proven testing and validation of ServiceNow code.
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, data schema, and best practices.
- Leadership of technical initiatives and project delivery.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Required Education & Certifications
- 6+ years of ServiceNow development experience.
- ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CAD, or CIS (any module).
- Knowledge of platform security (ACLs, roles, data policies) and external API integration (REST/SOAP) preferred.
