**Job Title:** Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS) – Contract
**Role Summary:**
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure AWS‑based infrastructure and automated CI/CD pipelines for client cloud‑native applications. Collaborate with development, architecture, and project teams to ensure high‑performance, cost‑effective environments while participating in on‑call support.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver reliable AWS infrastructure solutions aligned with security and compliance standards.
- Build and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines and IaC scripts.
- Provide proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and cost‑optimization.
- Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams and participate in on‑call rotations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and manage AWS services (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC).
- Develop, maintain, and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/OpenTofu.
- Automate provisioning, scaling, and deployment processes.
- Monitor performance, resolve incidents, and implement cost‑saving measures.
- Enforce security best practices (encryption, backups, access controls).
- Collaborate with software engineers to streamline DevOps workflows.
- Participate in on‑call rotation for critical system support.
**Required Skills:**
- 4+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related field.
- Hands‑on AWS experience (EC2, ECS/Fargate, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
- Proficient with GitLab CI/CD pipeline configuration.
- Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu for IaC.
- Scripting proficiency (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Strong Linux administration and networking knowledge.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem‑solving, collaboration, and communication abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) preferred but not mandatory.
- Additional certifications such as Kubernetes, Ansible, or related tools are a plus.
