Job Description
**Job Title** Data Engineer – Databricks Environment (M/F) **Role Summary** Design, implement, and maintain data solutions using Databricks, Apache Spark (batch, streaming, ML, SQL), and Apache Kafka on cloud platforms (GCP, Azure). Build and support SQL/NoSQL databases, data lakes, and warehouses, ensuring data availability, quality, and performance for client projects. **Expactations** * Deliver robust, scalable data pipelines and services that meet performance and SLA requirements. * Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, share best practices, and mentor junior engineers. * Continuously optimize data workflows and contribute to architecture discussions. * Maintain high code quality, versioning, and CI/CD pipelines. * Communicate progress and challenges clearly to stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop Spark applications (PySpark, Scala) for batch, streaming, and ML workloads. * Integrate Kafka streams and connectors, manage schema evolution and data ingestion via REST/SOAP APIs. * Build and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as data lakes and warehouses. * Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins or equivalent. * Package solutions in Docker containers and orchestrate deployments. * Collaborate with international teams and contribute to the global data community. * Provide technical support and troubleshooting during production incidents. * Participate in knowledge sharing, best‑practice documentation, and training sessions. **Required Skills** * 3+ years of experience as a data engineer or similar role. * Mastery of Apache Spark, Databricks, and Apache Kafka. * Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java for data processing. * Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL database design and management. * Hands‑on experience with cloud data services (GCP BigQuery, Dataflow; Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory). * Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). * Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. * Professional level English communication. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field. * Optional certifications: Databricks Certified Data Engineer, AWS/Azure/GCP Big Data, or equivalent.
