Job Description
Job Title: Principal Architect (Cloud & Infrastructure) Role Summary: Lead technical authority in the Cloud & Infrastructure Practice, shaping solutions strategy, guiding professional and managed services, and driving the adoption of emerging technologies across client engagements and internal teams. Expectations: - 5+ years of senior or lead consulting experience delivering large‑scale infrastructure solutions. - Expert technical influence with strategic customers and vendors; capable of navigating complex technical and commercial scenarios. - Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills; adaptable to a mobile, client‑facing environment. Key Responsibilities: - Build and sustain technical relationships with key customer stakeholders and strategic vendors. - Serve as the senior technical escalation point for post‑sale engagements and PMO/managed service operations. - Collaborate with practice leadership to refine and implement service models, including new packaged offerings. - Guide the technical direction and strategy for the Practice, including emerging technology adoption. - Develop and maintain training and certification pathways for technical team upskilling. - Mentor and share knowledge across technical teams, fostering continuous improvement. - Define, standardize, and maintain documentation, operating procedures, and best‑practice guidelines. - Oversee demo and training lab environments and support customer demonstrations. - Partner with internal product teams to expand in‑house software platforms. Required Skills: - Proven expertise in cloud technologies (compute, data, storage, networking, virtualization). - Certified expert level in at least one of Microsoft Azure, VMware, Dell, or HPE. - Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code and IT automation tools. - Knowledge of Kubernetes, AI/ML frameworks, and other cloud services (AWS, GCP) is a plus. - Excellent written and verbal communication; strong documentation ability. - Commercial awareness and ability to influence customers, vendors, and colleagues. - Flexibility to travel as required within the UK. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - Professional certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware Certified Advanced Professional, Dell Certified Professional, or HPE Enterprise Administrator, as applicable. - Demonstrated experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
