**Job Title:** Senior AWS Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS-based data pipelines and warehouse solutions for AHFC BI environments. Lead ETL/ELT development with Glue/PySpark, serverless integration with Lambda, Redshift data warehousing, vendor file transfer, and data migration using DMS. Orchestrate workflows with Airflow, ensure data quality, performance, cost optimization, and regulatory compliance.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver end‑to‑end data engineering solutions on AWS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production pipeline issues promptly.
- Mentor development team on AWS best practices, cost and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance teams to meet SOX and regulatory standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue with PySpark.
- Develop and maintain serverless integration workflows with AWS Lambda.
- Design, tune, and manage Amazon Redshift data warehouses, including stored procedures and advanced SQL analytics.
- Lead vendor file transfer and ingestion using AWS Transfer Family.
- Build database migration and replication pipelines with AWS DMS.
- Orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow or equivalent tools.
- Analyze data quality, transformation logic, and performance with SQL and data analysis techniques.
- Troubleshoot production data pipelines and AWS service integrations.
- Guide team on AWS security, encryption, IAM, and compliance practices.
**Required Skills:**
- AWS Glue, PySpark, Lambda, Redshift, Transfer Family, DMS, Airflow.
- Advanced SQL (complex queries, analytics, stored procedures).
- Linux/Unix command line, scripting (Python, Bash).
- Data modeling, performance tuning, cost optimization.
- Security and compliance in regulated environments (SOX, financial services).
- Problem‑solving, debugging, and data analysis.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of data platform or engineering experience; 5+ years hands‑on AWS.
- Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty, or AWS Lambda/SNS certifications.
