Job Description
**Job Title** Chief People & Culture Officer – High Growth **Role Summary** Govern the design, implementation and scaling of a comprehensive people strategy over the next 18‑24 months for a rapidly expanding SME. Build and professionalise the HR function, embed a high‑performance culture, and ensure all talent‑related processes support the company’s growth objectives and compliance requirements. **Expectations** - Deliver a fully integrated 18‑24 month people roadmap aligned with business scale‑up targets. - Scale HR capabilities, technology, and governance to support rapid headcount growth. - Create a culture of innovation, accountability and inclusiveness that drives performance and retention. - Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership, informing workforce planning, reward strategy and organisational risk. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop and execute a holistic people strategy tied to growth milestones. - Lead organisational design, establishing structures, leadership frameworks and capability plans. - Build a high‑performance culture through values, trust, and accountability initiatives. - Design and roll out talent acquisition, learning & development, succession planning and career path frameworks. - Implement performance frameworks, career pathways and capability‑development tools. - Elevate employee engagement, wellbeing, communication and diversity & inclusion programmes. - Introduce scalable HR processes, technology, and policies to optimise the employee lifecycle. - Ensure full compliance with UK employment law and evolving people‑related regulations. - Provide workforce planning and reward strategy support to executive teams. - Coach senior leaders on people management and drive organisational risk mitigation. **Required Skills** - Strategic HR leadership (CPO, People Director or equivalent). - Proven expertise in building or transforming People & Culture functions in scaling SMEs or high‑growth environments. - Strong knowledge of organisational design, talent acquisition, L&D, succession planning, and performance management. - Commercial acumen and ability to balance long‑term strategy with hands‑on delivery. - Excellent communication, influence and stakeholder‑management skills. - Experience with HR technology implementation, process optimisation and governance frameworks. - Knowledge of UK employment law and people‑related regulatory environment. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field. - Master’s degree or higher preferred. - Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD Level 7, SHRM‑SCP, HRCI SPHR) strongly desirable. ---
