Job title: Data Architect – Snowflake
Role Summary: Design and implement a cloud-native data platform with Snowflake, aligning technical architecture, governance, and data quality roadmaps. Lead standardization of ingestion, transformation, and delivery, ensuring robust monitoring and access controls.
Expectations:
- Deliver a comprehensive data architecture strategy by 2026, harmonizing existing pipelines with Snowflake S2.
- Integrate governance tools (Collibra, dbt docs) to support lineage, cataloging, and audit compliance.
- Create measurable observability metrics and dashboards for data quality and platform health.
- Mentor teams, promote best practices, and enforce design authority and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define ingestion and delivery frameworks (batch, streaming, CDC; API, BI, data services).
2. Build an observability & data quality plan, establishing metrics, tools, and roadmap.
3. Implement monitoring of pipelines, services, and resource availability; deliver dashboards.
4. Design migration methodology from SSIS/SQL Server to Snowflake, detailing phases, tools, risk, and effort estimation.
5. Develop access‑management strategy (RBAC/ABAC roles, policies) compliant with security standards.
6. Produce all necessary documentation—framework specs, migration plans, monitoring dashboards, and operational roadmap.
Required Skills:
- General technical: SQL Server, Snowflake, AWS, Linux/Windows, Docker, networking (Cisco, LAN/WAN).
- Advanced data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical, including Star Schema, Data Vault).
- ELT and orchestration: SQL, Airflow/Dagster/JAMS, dbt; experience with SSIS.
- Cloud architecture design on AWS, native Snowflake solutions.
- Governance/catalogue tools: Collibra, dbt docs, lineage, metadata management.
- Industrial multi‑ERP exposure, CDC pipelines (SAP Landscape Transformation preferred).
- Data observability mindset; metrics definition and monitoring tools (Grafana).
- Leadership: technical design authority, cross‑functional collaboration, teaching ability.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Required Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Professional certifications in Snowflake, AWS, or data architecture are preferred.
