Job Description
Job Title: Visitor Services Host Role Summary: Provide outstanding front‑of‑house support for all guests arriving at Admissions, Retail outlets and the Hullabazoo play area. Act as the primary ambassador for visitor experience, ensuring a welcoming, safe and memorable visit for all. Expectations: - Deliver consistently high level customer service in a fast‑moving, outdoor environment. - Uphold ZSL’s brand values and policies at all times. - Respond promptly to enquiries, resolve complaints, and appropriately escalates issues. - Adapt to variable shift schedules including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. - Participate in ongoing training, mandatory courses and performance briefings. Key Responsibilities: - Greet and welcome visitors upon arrival, providing information and support across the attraction. - Operate Admission counters, Retail interactions and Hullabazoo area logistics. - Serve as first point of contact for visitor inquiries, resolve issues and liaise with line management. - Ensure compliance with all relevant policies – GDPR, Health & Safety, Code of Conduct, and other operational guidelines. - Promote team communication through daily briefings, sharing insights and feedback. - Support cross‑departmental collaboration to maintain smooth operations during busy periods. Required Skills: - Proven front‑of‑house experience (outdoor or indoor) with a strong customer‑service orientation. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English; multilingual skills are an advantage. - Dependable, adaptable, and flexible with shift work – availability for evenings, weekends and public holidays. - Proactive and collaborative team player; ability to maintain composure under pressure. - Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion principles. - Basic computer literacy for ticketing and reporting systems. Required Education & Certifications: - No formal degree required; relevant hospitality or customer‑service certificates welcomed. - Completion of mandatory ZSL training, including GDPR and Health & Safety. - Successful pre‑employment checks, including right‑to‑work verification.
