Job Description
Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer Role Summary: Responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining high‑availability multiplayer game infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes. Acts as primary technical advisor and escalation point for large game publishers, coaches team members, and drives automation and process improvements. Expectations: • Deliver reliable, scalable systems that meet tight release schedules and uptime targets. • Collaborate with game studios on architecture, best practices, and incident response. • Own on‑call rotations and lead post‑mortem analysis to prevent recurrence. Key Responsibilities: 1. Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC tools. 2. Maintain containerized services on Kubernetes; orchestrate deployments, scaling, and rollouts. 3. Monitor health with Grafana, Prometheus, and custom dashboards; respond to alerts and incidents. 4. Perform root‑cause analysis and post‑mortem documentation for outages. 5. Mentor junior engineers, conduct knowledge‑sharing sessions, and resolve cross‑team escalations. 6. Identify automation opportunities, propose process enhancements, and implement tooling to increase efficiency. 7. Communicate with stakeholders to provide guidance on infrastructure design, capacity planning, and best practices. Required Skills: • Strong Linux server administration and shell scripting (Bash, Python, Go). • Expertise in Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. • Proficient with AWS services (EC2, ECS, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM). • Experience troubleshooting high‑scale distributed systems and performing root‑cause analysis. • Familiarity with monitoring/alerting stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management abilities. • Comfortable with on‑call rotations and incident management. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical experience. • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator, Terraform Associate) preferred but not mandatory. ---
