From our humble beginnings in North London, the Galldris Group has grown sizably, culminating in the occupation of a substantial purpose-built HQ in Enfield since 2008 and the opening of our own plant yard in 2002, which provides in-house Plant and Equipment valued at over £15m.

Job Description
Job Title: Senior Engineer Role Summary: Lead engineering oversight for civil infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project plans while managing site and trainee engineers. Expectations: - Prior experience as Senior Engineer (or equivalent) in civil engineering contractor within a highways/highway construction environment. - Demonstrated expertise in highways civils (earthworks, drainage, pavement systems, utilities, street lighting). - Proficiency in interpreting and enforcing CDM regulations, temporary works, and technical specifications. - Commercial awareness and ability to deliver cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Oversight of on-site engineering activities to align with contract drawings, specifications, and procedures. - Supervision of site and trainee engineers, ensuring adherence to health, safety, quality, and project standards. - Coordinate with teams to manage temporary works design, produce design briefs, and verify compliance during installation. - Prepare/modify RAMS, TBS, and inspection/test plans (ITPs) for safe and compliant workflows. - Track project progress, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions to maintain schedules. - Manage material approvals (MARs), quality documentation, and non-conformance records (NCRs). - Conduct quality readiness reviews and collate handover documentation. - Validate permits from contractors and align with project timelines. Required Skills: - Strong communication, leadership, and team management capabilities. - HSEQ advocacy and accountability for zero-tolerance safety practices. - Proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Fieldview, Dalux) for site management. - Experience with civil engineering design tools (AutoCAD, Autodesk, SketchUp). Required Education & Certifications: - Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent. - Membership in the Institute of Civil Engineers (or in progress). - IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS certification. - Valid CSCS card and full UK driving license. - Demonstrated competency in highways civil engineering project execution.
