Job Description
Job title: Product Functional Test Technology Engineer Role Summary: Coordinate test planning, execution, and rig management for product functional testing in a laboratory environment, ensuring safety, reliability, and accurate data for engineering decisions. Expactations: • Deliver timely, accurate test results that inform product development. • Maintain rig readiness and documentation for optimal operation. • Serve as the primary technical owner of designated test rigs. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with engineering teams to set test priorities and clarify requirements. • Design and conduct functional tests, including brake fatigue and vibration studies. • Assess rig capacity, safety, and readiness for requested tests. • Create, update, and maintain rig operating procedures, maintenance logs, and configuration data. • Execute laboratory tests requested by customers and internal facilities, ensuring data accuracy and prompt reporting. • Participate in the specification, implementation, validation, and optimization of test systems and setups. • Train and support teams on additional rigs to enhance facility flexibility. Required Skills: • Proficiency in MS Office and strong time‑management abilities. • Understanding of function‑based product testing – equipment selection, data recording, analysis, and result validation. • Knowledge of laboratory equipment safety, hazard assessment, risk analysis, and safeguard implementation. • Experience with product function test system design, integrating mechanical and electronic components. • Effective communication, documentation, and teamwork skills. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related technical discipline (entry‑level/early‑career acceptable). • Relevant laboratory/test cell experience preferred (internship, co‑op, or early‑career role).
