Job Description
Job Title: Technical Lead – Data (Contract) Role Summary Lead data engineering teams in designing, building, and delivering secure, scalable analytics solutions for enterprise clients. Translate complex business requirements into technical initiatives, oversee architecture, and ensure high‑quality code and delivery. Expectations - Provide technical and line‑management leadership for a data‑focused engineering team. - Own project success: schedule, scope, quality, and risk mitigation. - Partner directly with clients to capture and interpret requirements into actionable technical briefs. - Promote best practices in development, DevOps, and agile delivery. Key Responsibilities - Mentor and manage data engineers, fostering skill growth and performance. - Own end‑to‑end project delivery, identifying and removing blockers proactively. - Translate business needs into technical architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability. - Enforce coding standards, test‑driven development, version control (Git), and continuous integration. - Implement DevOps practices and monitor operational aspects: performance, security, accessibility, GDPR compliance. - Communicate status and insights to clients and senior stakeholders to drive informed decisions. Required Skills - 5+ years of experience in data engineering; recent role as Technical Lead or Senior Engineer. - Proficiency with Python, Databricks, Spark, and related data technologies. - Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern DevOps practices. - Strong agile experience, design patterns, TDD, and version‑control expertise. - Proven client engagement skills – gathering requirements, explaining technical concepts, and delivering solutions. - Leadership/mentoring ability and excellent communication, empathy, and stakeholder management. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
