Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager
Role Summary: Direct and scale two engineering squads, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. Own end‑to‑end delivery, ensuring high‑quality, reliable, on‑time releases, while shaping long‑term vision and strategy that aligns with product goals.
Expectations: Manage people, processes and technology to exceed business performance goals. Deliver mentorship, growth plans and a diverse, inclusive environment. Drive systems architecture, best practices, and technical standards. Prioritize work with Product, Data and Design, ensuring alignment of priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow two engineering teams, set clear OKRs, and coach managers and developers.
- Define and communicate long‑term technical vision, architecture, and roadmap.
- Own delivery of high‑impact initiatives: prioritize backlog, remove blockers, enforce quality gates.
- Coach engineers on technical excellence, secure system design, and trade‑off analysis.
- Champion CI/CD, monitoring, metrics, and continuous optimization.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of the platform.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders for alignment and impact.
- Foster an inclusive culture, ethical leadership and transparent communication.
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership, people management, and coaching abilities.
- Deep technical competency in backend development, architectural design and system scalability.
- Proven experience with Python/Django (or equivalent).
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, monitoring, and metrics.
- Ability to translate business goals into technical product roadmaps.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Metrics‑driven mindset, data‑centric decision making.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- 3‑5+ years of experience building, leading, and scaling development teams.
- Certifications in cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) or related tech stack are a plus.
