Job Description
Job title: Data Operations Analyst Role Summary: Lead ownership of core data workflows that support portfolio management, reporting, and consultancy within an investment and wealth management context. Focus on extracting, transforming, uploading, and validating data across multiple systems, with strong emphasis on automation, quality control, and continuous process improvement. Expectations: - Deliver high-quality, accurate data sets on schedule. - Demonstrate ownership and accountability for all assigned data processes. - Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues and system inefficiencies. Key Responsibilities: - Own end‑to‑end data processes for Model and Bespoke Portfolios and consultancy services. - Extract, transform, and upload daily transaction feeds, holdings data, reconciliation and performance files. - Develop and maintain Excel automation (VBA/macros) and SQL extraction scripts. - Clean, validate, and standardise datasets, enforce naming conventions and reference data. - Write and maintain data rules within the firm’s Data Control Infrastructure (DCI) tool. - Document system dependencies, map end‑to‑end workflows, and support quarterly data cleansing for regulatory reporting. - Investigate and resolve data quality exceptions, ensuring compliance with internal controls. - Provide ad‑hoc support to senior managers and the wider Operations Team. Required Skills: - Advanced SQL (data extraction, manipulation, uploads). - Advanced Excel (including VBA/macros and automation). - Experience with data cleaning, validation, and standardisation. - Detail‑oriented, control‑focused mindset. - Ability to understand complex system workflows and dependencies. - Strong organisational and prioritisation skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Analytical, problem‑solving, and continuous‑improvement abilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum 1 year of experience in investment/wealth management, fintech, or financial services (placement year acceptable). - Willingness to pursue relevant financial services qualifications (e.g., FCA/GIPS).
