Job Description
**Job title** Principal Cloud DevOps Engineer **Role Summary** Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of scalable, secure cloud native infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for a hybrid cloud/on‑prem environment. Own end‑to‑end DevOps practices, from IaC to automated monitoring, ensuring high availability, reliability, and compliance across multi‑cloud services. **Expectations** * Deliver robust, cost‑effective cloud architectures that meet business agility and reliability targets. * Drive adoption of DevOps culture, tools, and automation across engineering teams. * Own the full lifecycle of infrastructure: design, provisioning, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS, with other providers as needed), covering compute, networking, storage, and database services. 2. Identify, consolidate, and modernize legacy systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost. 3. Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent, ensuring modularity, reusability, and version control. 4. Build and maintain CD pipelines that automate code commit to production, integrating automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates. 5. Implement containerization (Docker) and orchestration (EKS, ECS, Kubernetes) for microservices deployments. 6. Automate infrastructure lifecycle tasks: provisioning, configuration, deployment, monitoring, and incident response. 7. Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to ensure system health and performance. 8. Define and track KPIs for infrastructure and application stability; establish proactive alerting mechanisms. 9. Champion DevOps best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives. 10. Enforce security best practices: IAM, network security, encryption, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance. **Required Skills** * 8+ years of DevOps/SRE experience with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure. * Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS) and experience with at least one additional cloud provider. * Hands‑on expertise with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and version control (Git). * Deep knowledge of CI/CD frameworks (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Spinnaker) and automated testing pipelines. * Containerization experience (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS). * Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell). * Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch). * Understanding of security controls, Identity & Access Management, network security, encryption, and vulnerability scanning. * Familiarity with industry compliance and internal security policies. * 3+ years of compiled language software development (C++, C#) preferred. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. * Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
