Job Description
**Job Title** Privacy Officer **Role Summary** Provide day‑to‑day administrative and advisory support for data protection activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, managing individual rights requests, maintaining records, and supporting breach management, stakeholder communication, and training initiatives. **Expectations** - Deliver timely, accurate data protection support and documentation. - Meet legislative deadlines and handle multiple high‑priority tasks independently. - Collaborate across teams to promote a culture of data protection compliance. **Key Responsibilities** - Administer Subject Access Requests, Right to Erasure and other individual rights, including redaction and validation of disclosure files. - Maintain accuracy, security, and auditability of team systems, records, and files. - Manage the data breach register (OneTrust), support investigations, and provide breach guidance to business units. - Support data protection communications and serve as liaison with the Communications Team and Data Protection Champions Group. - Assist colleague inductions and training; prepare and deliver data protection presentations and materials. - Record and analyze data protection queries, manage the intranet site, and coordinate with the Head of DP and Manager. - Review third‑party risk assessments through OneTrust, support supplier compliance queries, and assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments. - Advise on data minimisation and other DP projects, schedule meetings, manage the team inbox, and perform general administrative duties. **Required Skills** - In‑depth knowledge of data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, UK Data Protection Act). - Ability to provide clear, actionable data protection advice to stakeholders. - Experience with breach investigation, incident response, and guiding business teams. - Strong analytical and organisational skills; manage own workload under tight deadlines. - Collaborative mindset to raise awareness across cross‑functional teams. - Excellent communication and training presentation skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Relevant university degree (e.g., Law, Information Technology, Business, or related field). - Professional data protection certification preferred (e.g., CIPP/E, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor), though not mandatory. - Equivalent experience in a data protection or privacy role acceptable.
