Job title: Senior Solutions Engineer
Role Summary:
Execute all phases of the customer’s digital transformation by serving as the technical and business advisor for Okta’s Identity Platform. Deliver compelling sales presentations, customized demonstrations, Proof‑of‑Concepts, and ongoing technical support to a diverse range of stakeholders from developers to C‑level executives. Partner closely with sales, marketing, engineering, and product management to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets while driving customer success and product adoption.

- Meet or exceed assigned territory sales and pipeline goals.
- Demonstrate advanced technical expertise and articulate complex solutions to varied audiences.
- Maintain current knowledge of cloud platforms, identity protocols, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate across internal teams to deliver PoCs and capture actionable feedback for product improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct needs assessment interviews, articulate customer challenges, and position Okta solutions to address those needs.
- Build and deliver tailored product demonstrations, whiteboard sessions, and technical talks to developers, product managers, and executives.
- Design, plan, and execute Proof‑of‑Concepts for complex use‑cases, coordinating with engineering teams as required.
- Respond to product feature and technical inquiries from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide product management with constructive feedback on feature gaps and enhancement opportunities.
- Develop and share reusable assets, best practices, and sales collateral with the Solutions Engineering team.
- Keep abreast of competitive offerings and market differentiation to strengthen value propositions.
- Support marketing and technical events, including executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows.
- Potentially act as subject‑matter expert for specific products or competitive knowledge within the team.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of pre‑sales engineering and solution selling experience.
- Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical and technical audiences, including large group presentations.
- Strong verbal and written communication; adept at using whiteboards and diagramming tools.
- Territory management expertise: pipeline building, forecasting, and partnership with sales.
- Technical proficiency: deployed applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Vercel).
- Hands‑on experience with at least one network security protocol (OAuth/OAuth2, SAML, LDAP).
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, SDKs, and web/backend/scripting technologies (JavaScript, HTML, Java, C#, Node.js, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Perl).
- Understanding of core application security (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS/XSRF).
- Diagramming experience for user journey flows and architecture.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field.
- Preferred experience designing, implementing, and managing Privileged Access solutions.
Note: Travel up to 25% may be required.
