**Job Title**
Cloud Engineer, Azure
**Role Summary**
Provide L2‑L3 technical support and infrastructure management for Azure environments across the Fortegra Group. Lead Azure resource provisioning, cost optimization, VDI administration, user support, and security compliance, coordinating with multiple legal entities and ensuring efficient service delivery.
**Expectations**
- Deliver high‑quality support within SLA; manage ticket backlog.
- Mentor junior staff and share best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation and process improvements.
- Actively contribute to shared‑services strategy across regions.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provision, configure, and manage Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking, databases).
- Monitor performance and costs; implement optimization measures.
- Manage Azure VDI (AVD) lifecycle, user access, and performance monitoring.
- Troubleshoot user hardware/software issues; coordinate with vendors.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID and Office 365 admin centers (accounts, MFA, groups).
- Enforce security policies, audit logs, and regulatory compliance (SOX, NIST, DORA).
- Oversee onboarding/offboarding, MFA enforcement, and security settings.
- Maintain ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and knowledge base updates.
- Identify process enhancements; contribute to IT policies.
- Script and automate routine tasks using PowerShell or Python.
- Design scalable, cost‑efficient cloud solutions; document architecture and IaC.
**Required Skills**
- Deep knowledge of core Azure services (VMs, VNet/NSG, Storage, SQL, MySQL, Redis).
- Expertise in Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, RBAC, policy management.
- Experience with IaC (ARM, Bicep, Terraform, YML/JSON).
- Strong scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python).
- Proficient in Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD, Office 365 Admin Center.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and strategic thinking.
- Effective written and verbal communication; cross‑team collaboration.
- Familiarity with on‑prem networking (DHCP, IP troubleshooting).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (required).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (preferred).
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent (preferred).
