Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Technician Apprentice **Role Summary:** Learning on-job while supporting technology across schools and central office. Duties include troubleshooting devices, maintaining audio‑visual systems, and applying software updates, all within a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment. The role provides hands‑on experience and structured training toward a Level 3 IT solutions technician qualification. **Expectations:** - Attend full‑time apprenticeship (≈21 months). - Participate in 20 % off‑job learning and 2‑week trainer meetings. - Achieve functional skills in Maths and English or take steps to obtain them. **Key Responsibilities:** - Resolve day‑to‑day IT issues for staff and students. - Support Windows, Apple, and Chrome devices, including setup and maintenance. - Assist with audio‑visual equipment and software roll‑outs. - Record incidents and asset details in service‑management and asset systems. - Provide friendly, clear customer service to colleagues and school teams. - Collaborate with external partners to enhance IT solutions. - Travel between central office, hubs, and schools as needed. **Required Skills:** - Strong interest in IT and technology. - Problem‑solving and troubleshooting aptitude. - Good organisational and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and in a team. **Required Education & Certifications:** - GCSE Maths and English grades A–C (or equivalent functional skill attainment). - No formal IT qualification required; apprenticeship will deliver Level 3 IT solutions technician credential.
