**Job title** QA Tester – Remote Contract (6 months) – £300 p/d Inside IR35 **Role Summary** Contract QA Tester supporting a large government‑run digital programme focused on central financial services digitisation. Responsible for designing and executing functional, non‑functional, and accessibility test plans, conducting exploratory risk‑based testing, and ensuring that services meet business requirements and technical design standards. **Expectations** * Immediate start, remote contract, 6‑month term (initial 3 months renewable) * Day rate £300, inside IR35 * BPSS clearance required or ability to obtain * Short screening call followed by virtual interview with leadership **Key Responsibilities** * Design, document, and execute comprehensive test plans for functional, non‑functional, and accessibility testing. * Perform exploratory, risk‑based testing to uncover defects early. * Verify that digital services comply with business requirements and technical specifications. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary delivery teams in complex GDS environments. * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engage with HMRC testing and quality communities. **Required Skills** * Strong Scala development and testing experience. * Automation testing proficiency using Selenium, Cucumber, and Cypress. * Comfortable working on MacOS or Linux platforms. * Experience with Jira and Confluence for test management. * Familiarity with public sector digital services and GDS standards (highly desirable). * Previous HMRC programme experience a plus. **Required Education & Certifications** * None specified; a background in Computer Science or related field is preferred but not mandatory. ---
